Kayaking is the best way to explore the breathtaking beauty of Ba Be Lake. The small boat allows you to get up close to the karst mountains and slip into the small caves. These paddle-powered vessels have the added bonus of being eco-friendly. Also, without the noise of an engine, you can get much closer to the many different species of wildlife on the lake.
You can explore the hidden corners of the lake, visit the fishing villages, and discover the islands at your own pace. The calm, easy waters of Ba Be Lake make this a suitable activity for all abilities.
Safety is a top priority, therefore, when kayaking you must wear a lifejacket. Suitable clothing should be worn for your comfort, and this depends largely on what time of year you plan to visit Ba Be. In the hot summer, a swimsuit or a t-shirt and a pair of shorts are perfect, but you should remember to put on plenty of sun cream. In winter, you will need something a little warmer such as a jacket and a hat, as it can get a little cold. It is always a good idea to bring sun cream, mosquito repellent, shoes that you don't mind getting wet and a dry bag for your valuables.
